SCHUTZHUND

German for "protection dog", it is a sport that focuses on developing and evaluating those traits in dogs that make them more useful and happier companions to their owners. This working dog sport offers an opportunity for dog owners to train their dog and compete with each other for recognition of both, the handler's ability to train and the dog's ability to perform.

The purpose of Schutzhund is to demonstrate the dog's intelligence and utility. It also measures the dog's mental stability, endurance, structural efficiencies, ability to scent, willingness to work, courage, and trainability.

PERSONAL PROTECTION

A professionally trained personal protection dog can be the first line of defense against unwanted intrusions either in your home or in a public/commerical setting. Canine protection dogs are trained to patrol, defend a territory, attack, and win a fight against an intruding animal or human.

OBEDIENCE

Obedience training is often a prerequisite for or a component of specialized training and ranges from very basic training, such as teaching the dog to reliably respond to basic commands, to high level competition where additional commands, accuracy and performance are scored and judged.

Drive-based training techniques are utilized, which makes the training process for both the dog and the owner/handler much more enjoyable!

Standard Class: 5 weeks @ 1x/week: $150

BEHAVIORAL PROBLEMS

This type of training deals with the many issues humans often contend with as dog owners such as biting, snapping, chewing, barking, digging, fighting, separation anxiety, fear of thunderstorms, potty-training and pulling on leash to name just a few!
